Logo Design- Electric Lightbulb
The Logo I am designing is for a VFX company called Electric Lightbulb. Firstly I started to look at different well known logos and think about why they work so well. There are five keys factors to making a good logo which are Memorable, Simple, Timeless, Versatile and Appropriate. So I am going to try include these aspects into my design so that I can make a great logo.
Then I started to create some designs so that I could improve my logo concepts. These are shown below.

Then I started to create some of my designs in illustrator which I have shown below. My favourite one was the middle on so I have chosen this to do for my final design.

Then I started to look at different fonts to try improve my design. The fonts I looked at are shown below.

Then I looked at how my design would look with different fonts and colours. I liked the white on black look as it makes the logo look more bright and stand out. Also by using the wide bold font it allows the logo be more readable when its a post it stamp size.

I then chose my sixth design as my final design which is shown below. I chose this as I liked how the yellow and orange worked together to create the lightning bolt and allows it to stand out. However I did increase the stroke size on it so my logo would be a bit bolder as I felt this would allow it to stand out more.

Character Design- Terry the T-Rex (Meteor-Bites)
I have decided to create a cereal box character for my character design. so I decided to look at different cereal box characters to get some ideas of what I could do for mine. These are shown below.
As most cereal box characters are cartoons and are aimed towards children I decided to create a T-Rex character for a made up cereal called meteor-bites. So I started to look at different images of T-Rex bones and other T-Rex concept art so that I could try simplify it and turn it into a cartoon character. So below are the reference images that I collected.
Then I started to create an initial design and my final design with side view, front view and action pose which can be seen below.

Below I have created a full colourised and textured version of the side and front view and also the action pose, for the texture I used a seamless image of elephant skin as I felt this was the closest to how I imagine T-Rex skin would look like. This can be seen below.
