In this part of the unit we had to get into groups of five to work as part of a video production crew to create a 4-6 minute video. This video can be based on any genre or subject but must include a phone call as a central feature in the story line.
Synopsis
First thing we had to do was that each person in our group had to create an individual idea for a 4-6 min video that we could do for our overall video. The synopsis I created is shown below.

Pre-Production
After everyone completed their synopsis’ we read through them as a group and decided the best possible one for our project to do for our project. This synopsis was Eathan’s and it was called “Horrible Wishes”. Now that we had our synopsis to create the film, we had to decide which job each of us in our group would do during the making of the video. So the roles each of us have are.

Due to me being the director I had to create a script and a storyboard for the video that our group was to create. Below is the script and the storyboard that I created.

After I did these our produce was then able to do his location scouting so that we as a group could do a recce of these locations for the video. Below is the sketches of the area and the reconnoiter form.
The sketches below are for the room we used to film in. I then gave these images to the rest of the group so they may add where the camera, lighting and sound will go in the scene.

Principle Photography
Due to not being able to get actors I had to amend the script and story board from 5 actors to 4 and for them all to be male as these where the only actors I could get a short notice. Also due to the fact that someone in our group forgot to bring the props we needed we had to improvise with the villain so instead of Ghostface we changed it to Baghead. Also due to not having a fake knife we couldn’t do close ups of a knife. The new amended script and storyboard is shown below.

Post-Production
After we got the footage for the video we all had to do an individual edit of the footage we obtained. I added some sound effects, title cards and tried to make some of the footage less dark at times.

After I finished my edit I was left with a 2min 35sec video, obviously this is not long enough for the brief but after taking away footage which was not usable and trying to make the video flow better so it was not jarring for an audience to watch, that is what I was left with.
